It all began with a visit to a grandmother…
WWhen Lucca Riccio visited his dying grandmother in the hospital in March 2015, she was wearing a CPAP mask to breathe. She struggled to speak with her family and grandchildren through the plastic mask and over the noise of the machines — no one could understand her.
While mourning the loss of his grandmother, Lucca had an idea: wouldn’t it be nice if no one else would have to go through the experience their family had to endure? He knew he had to do something, which led him to invent the solution.
Lucca and a team of entrepreneurs considered the opportunity to bring his idea to market. Soon they realized its applicability went far beyond its original intent, to a much broader market. A much, much broader market.
That’s why Clarity™ was created
Clarity™ is focused on a new exciting category of devices called, “Mask Communicators.” Mask Communicators support speech applications associated with masks, including cloth masks, surgical masks, N95/KN95 masks, bandanas, hoods, and so on.
The mission of our company is to address instances where a face covering is hindering the clarity and volume of a person’s speech, as well as occurrences in which advanced applications can provide value to the wearer.
How it works
A Mask Communicator receives the voice, processes it, and rebroadcasts it through an associated speaker. These are designed to be lightweight, rechargeable, sanitizable (for healthcare applications), and feature-rich. Future features are being evaluated which could link to associated smartphone-based applications, connected via Bluetooth.
